Sand, Steel, and Sunsets: The Town of Guinness

The party, with Backpfeifengesicht loses Hidden Bolt's Trail around the city of Guinness, in Texas. Some of them continue into the city and the rest try to follow up on Dalton's trail. Those who continue into the town meet up with Earl, a shopkeeper who works for Ma Torel. Earl offers to connect them with Hidden Bolt Dalton if they convince local town personalities to put up fliers for his campaign for town sheriff. Meanwhile, local mogul Bill Williamson wants Nathaniel Cavanaugh to swap ballots for him.

Coleman swaps stories with the local barkeep, Sal. He's survived both Kansas City and New Orleans, and he's thankful that is time in Guinness has been quiet. Coughingstone ends up face-to-face with the tall, reedy Agent James while he learns about the last sheriff's death. According to Agent James, The 10th Texas Cavalry is coming into town to find and stop Hidden Bolt Dalton once and for all. They're led by General Pierce, architect of Kansas City.

In the end, Cavanaugh revealed Williamson's plot, Sal was declared sheriff, and the players exhorted Earl's help. When they met Dalton on the edge of town and warned him of the cavalry's arrival. He gave them the compass and Enomoto's Sword. He also offered them an array of other rewards, as a show of good faith. Kaliska acquired a Lakota Scroll. Coleman received a satchel of state secrets. Nathaniel Cavanaugh chose a Sword of Southern Solidarity from a fallen classmate. Michel Cavanaugh opted to take Judge Grey Sand's Journal. I believe Coughinstone got a pair of engraved axes.
